Holiday

I recently returned from a wonderful holiday. It was a time of reconnection with dear friends and place. It offered the chance to laugh, to spend lots of time in nature, to read, to sleep, go new places, to have new experiences, and to stop; to stop and take a fresh view of the trajectory of my life.
It was busy and fun, full of heartfelt love and gratitude for all I have, which is so much.

Where did I go  you may ask? Zambia, a country that was my home, and remains a place I feel very at home in.
In conjunction with time spent with friends, I visited the lodges we shall be staying at on the Yoga Safari I am offering in May next year. It was ‘wow’; great animal viewings, delicious meals, yoga by the Zambezi River and fabulous accommodation. Information of this Wellness Adventure is on the link below. Take a peak and do send it to anyone who may be interested.

Yoga by the Zambezi River @ Chundukwa Lodge, Livingstone.

Ayurveda

Now back in Hobart I am making the most of the spring sunshine as I prepare the garden for ‘the growing season’ and  complete Ayurveda training.
Ayurveda is the sister science to yoga, promoting health through diet, exercise and lifestyle. It offers a personalised approach to restoring balance within ones body and life. Its inclusion in my practice will offer a blend of east meets west, enabling me to offer a rounded and holistic style of support; meeting people where they are in their journey of self-care.
More information coming soon.

Building Better Bones

The next Building Better Bones course starts in early October and a couple of places remain.
It offers a holistic approach to bone health, incorporating yoga, nutrition and lifestyle (you can see a connection with Ayurveda principles here). Do contact me if you want to know more about how it may support your bone health.

My continued exploration of the sense is seen below through the lense of my travels.

Sound - what I am listening to?

On safari one never knows what you will experience. Lions and elephants have a curious relationship.

Sight - what am I seeing?

Victoria Falls

Always a magnificent sight. This view pathe falls is west up the Zambezi river with Zambia on the right, the northern side of the river. (Zimbabwe is on the left, southern side.) The water levels are subsiding after the peak in May.

Taste - what I am eating?

Elephant Cafe

Eager for her snack of acacia seeds, I felt safe up close with this beautiful lady.

The cafe was established to support orphan elephants. After feeding the elephants we indulged in a delicious meal that incorporates tasty local ingredients. (Dietary requirements are well catered for.)

Touch - what am I feeling?

The soft, very firm skin of elephant. It feels like soft leather with hairs like a cats whiskers; a strange combination of sensations.

Smell - what I am smelling?

Wild Basil

A small plant that you brush as you walk in the bush, has a fragrance that I would describe as a combination of basil and peppermint. It makes good tea.
